I'm not getting Mother of the Year either ;)

I finally got around to taking Anderson's and Benson's 9 month photos. Benson LOVED the pine straw. He wanted to eat it. He might have actually eaten a couple of pieces.

Couldn't you just eat those cheeks?!

Anderson was not a fan of the pine straw. I don't think I need to explain it any further once you see his expression. He's normally a very happy baby. He would not cooperate...no laughing, no smiling. Just pissed off, angry Andy.

Jackson is 4. 4 is also code for "hates having his picture taken".

He also lightens up.

And smiles like Pawpaw.

Anderson cruises around the furniture. I just love how he comes up to visit me on the couch. He pulls up and says something in baby jabber, laughs, smiles, looks at me and then goes about his business. So cute.

Last week, we let the boys take a bath together. They had the BEST time. They splashed water all over the place...Adam had to change his clothes afterwards since I was too busy documenting the situation. Jackson had a blast with them. They all laughed so loud the entire time. I really hope I keep that memory locked tightly away forever.

Anderson loves puffs. Apparently his butt does, too.

Benson hasn't mastered crawling. But, he's really good at planking.

Adam and I are going to Destin on Thursday. Alone. Assuming no one gets sick or anything bad happens. I cannot wait to sleep past 6:45.

I don't even know where to begin. I haven't been the best blogger...but I have good reasons. My business really picked up in November and December. I had a break around Christmas, and it's started to pick back up again. My business year wrapped up well... I was featured on 3 different photography sites.

On to stuff you would rather see...

Anderson and Benson are 9 months old today!

Anderson weighs 17 pounds 13.5 ounces. He's 27.25 inches long and his head circumference is 18.25 inches. He is crawling all over the place and just started to pull up in his crib. Jabbering is among his favorite activities along with a blue elephant that was Jackson's (that Katherine gave to him).

Diaper changes have become more like wrestling matches.

Benson weighed 16 pounds, 14 ounces...catching up! He is 27 inches long and his head circumference is 18 inches. He REALLY loves his pacifier. So much so that there are 6 in his bed. He was waking up throughout the night because he would lose his and would cry out. He'll fall asleep in a pacifier dreamland...one in each hand and one in mouth. Benson loves to play with his toys. He really likes this little lion thing that he can sit and play with. Another favorite is his little piano...and his feet. He isn't crawling yet, but he will rock back and forth on his knees.

Jackson, if you ever go back and read this posts know that you hate the camera and won't really let me photograph you. Right now, you're really into Star Wars and Jedis.

Christmas Whirlwind

The most wonderful time of the year has come and gone. While I'm sad that it's over, there's a little part of me that's glad I don't have to run around from house to house this week. I love seeing family but it's exhausting carting 3 little ones around. Here's how our week went...

Anderson has achieved a couple of milestones. He can now army crawl and go from laying down to the sitting position. He also waves bye-bye. These pics were taken at Nana and Papa's house.

We came back to Nana and Papa's house Tuesday. Grandma Millie, or "Papa's mommy" as Jackson calls her, came to visit with her husband, Rick. Jackson absolutely loved Rick...he played with Jackson the entire time we were there (which is no small task). Anderson was quite smitten with Grandma Millie...pretty sure the feeling was mutual.

Benson would much rather sit up than lie down. But, he's started rocking back forth (on his knees) and then falls forward.

We spent Christmas Eve at Nana and Papa's house, too. Almost all of Adam's family was there to celebrate.

We woke up Christmas day to a wonderful surprise. Santa left Jackson a Batman Geotrax track, and it was quite the hit. After we opened presents at our house, we went to Pawpaw's house and spent the majority of the day there. I know 3 little boys that got tons of goodies and were super tired afterwards.

Yesterday, was Jackson's birthday. I cannot believe he's 4 already! We had a very low key day since it was raining. But, we took him to dinner tonight while Nana and Papa watched the twins. We went to a local favorite, Rocket City Diner, where it happened to be Magic Monday. The magician made him a balloon giraffe in his favorite color blue. While he ate his grilled cheese, he told me this was the best birthday ever. Of course, I teared up while my husband rolled his eyes and laughed at me. After he finished, they came to sing happy birthday to him. He wasn't very happy and buried his head in my lap. He told our waitress that he "liked their pretty song, but it was just too loud."

Well, this has been an interesting week. It all started late Wednesday afternoon. Anderson was really fussy, which is not like him. I ended up taking him for a car ride to see if he would take a little nap and calm down around 8 that night. He finally went down for the night and woke up around midnight and cried pretty much nonstop until 8 that morning. Adam and I start our day like we normally do...get Jackson ready for school and feed the twins. I'm trying to feed Anderson and notice he's breathing kind of funny. He was grunting and sounded as if he was holding his breath (I know that probably doesn't make sense but that's the only way I know how to describe it). So, I get in the car to take him to the ER while Adam loads Jackson and Benson up to take him (Jackson) to school. This was also Jackson's last day of school before Christmas break and was his little Christmas party. Me, being the concerned mom that I am, am slightly freaking out because I don't want Jackson to be "alone" at his Christmas party. So, Adam takes Benson to his parents house fully intending on leaving Benson with his mom and he'll go to the party. He walks in to find his dad carrying his mom down the stairs, only to see her collapse when she stood up. Off she went to the ER, to find out that she had a bleeding ulcer. I'm happy to report that she's out of the hospital and doing well...don't know what we would do without our Nana.

Meanwhile, Anderson and I are in the ER. I was so happy that when we got there, we were the only ones in the waiting room. The receptionist immediately called for a nurse to take us back. She put the pulse ox meter on Anderson and it read 91 (should be between 97-100). She put oxygen on him, which you can imagine how well that went over with him. They (several nurses) started an IV, which took 3 miserable/excruciating attempts. After several tests and a chest x-ray, the doc decided he had RSV. Dr. Gaudet, his pediatrician, came over to see us in the ER from the clinic-which I'm completely grateful for. He didn't have to do that, but did because he cares about his patients. He explained that even though Anderson tested negative for RSV, he still believed he had it. I talked to several other parents whose children had RSV that also tested negative. Anyway, we got moved to a room, and Anderson received excellent care. I was ecstatic to see that his night nurse was Chad. Chad was also their nurse in the NICU and Jackson's nurse when he was hospitalized after a bad stomach virus around 18 months old. I cannot say enough nice things about Chad. He is truly a gift from God and has the most nurturing spirit. Anderson got more breathing treatments throughout the night and morning. He only slept for a couple of hours, which put him at being awake for about 36 hours. Yikes...that was NOT fun. We were really surprised that he got released the next day. His O2 sats were staying around 100 so there was really nothing that they did in the hospital that we couldn't do at home.

Adam came to the hospital that morning to relieve that morning since I had not been to sleep in over 24 hours. I came home, took a Benadryl and went to take a nap. About an hour into said nap, I get a call from my sister-in-law, Wendy. She was taking care of Benson for me and said that he was starting to have the same symptoms as Anderson. Fabulous! In my Benadryl-drunken haze, I get up and meet her at the doctor's office. Looking back on it, I probably shouldn't have driven considering how tired I was. Dr. Gaudet saw Benson and said he had the same thing but didn't need to be hospitalized. He also told me how precious my twins are. He said that when he went to see Anderson, it was hard for him to leave him because of how cute he was...rocking back and forth on his knees, babbling, and smiling. I thought that was sweet of him to say...not all doctors are that personable.

It's been a rough 4 days, but we're making it. They seem to do well during the day but not so good at night. Hopefully, we'll all be well for Christmas!

We've started keeping a "Good or Bad" chart for Jackson. It's actually a chore chart that came with different colored magnetic stars. If he's good, he gets a blue star for the day. If he gets in any time outs, he gets a red star. Pretty simple. But, if he goes a whole week without getting any red stars, he gets a "prize". One week it was ice cream. Well last week, it was a trip to Lewis Lights. When we pulled up, he was talking non stop about all the pretty lights. He also asked about going to see Gordon and Thomas. I couldn't believe he remembered that from a year ago!

First Time for Everything

On Saturday, we loaded up the boys and drove over to the Laurel Fair. I was a little worried at first, being as though Benson seems to get really fussy around loud noises (except Jackson) and didn't know if Jackson would want to venture out into the world of carnival rides. Turns out, I was worry for nothing. Jackson had absolutely no fear, and Anderson and Benson could've cared less about everything.

When we first got there, Adam stayed in the car and fed the boys while Jackson and I went in. (Adam got to enjoy Zoo Boo with Jackson while I sat and fed the boys, so this was my turn:)) First, we went to the petting zoo. I really thought Jackson would love this-wrong! He was scared that the animals would bite him...which some did look kind of crazy...see goat below.

Next, we went on a little pony ride. He really liked the little horse but was concerned about "him's hair" (I think the braids kind of threw Jackson off). And I must point out the worker in the background. One thing about fairs...people watching is very entertaining and gross. Once he got around to where Jackson is, he decided he really needed to blow his nose...mind you, he didn't have any tissues.

After the horse, we went on into where the rides and games were. This was Jackson's first experience with a ride. I couldn't believe how carefree he was about doing this...he's usually so cautious and asks a million questions before doing anything. This little alligator was a lot of fun for him! He's in the very back, with the look of pure joy on his face.

Adam finally made an appearance after the alligator ride, so he and Jackson went on the ferris wheel. Jackson was begging to go on it by himself but I was not about to let him do that. Adam said they had a great time and that he loved it.

Anderson and Benson stayed on ground level with me. See all the "caring" going on? ;)

We made our way around the fair, which had a lot more to do than I would've ever imagined. Jackson had a ton of fun in the fun house with all the mirrors and loved this little dragon ride (see below). He also went down a really tall slide, but I didn't get any pictures of that. I really just can't believe how brave Jackson was...guess my little boy isn't so little after all.

We had a great time! I think I enjoyed it as much as Jackson did. It was completely worth the ridiculous amount of money it costs for the rides just to see his face.

What's We've Been Up To

Even Anderson and Benson got to come...their first trip to the farm was a cold one. Anderson decided to sleep on Char in the truck. Benson took everything in with Pawpaw.

Let's start with Jackson...

We've gone to the farm a couple of times with Pawpaw. He always has a great time out there. We ride around in Pawpaw's truck, and Jackson gets to sit in the front with me-which he thinks is super cool. We look for animals and usually see rabbits and squirrels. This past time, we saw a bunch of quail with their little babies in tow behind them (super cute) and 6 deer. Jackson is like me and would have a mild heart attack is he saw someone shoot anything. Although, he has asked to go dove hunting with Dada and Pawpaw. We'll just have to see about that...

Anderson and Benson are 6 months old! Can you believe it?! I swear, I think time goes by quicker the second (and third) time around than it does with the first. Here are some facts about them..

~They found their feet. One of the cutest milestones, in my opinion. They're constantly bringing them up to play with them, even in the stroller.
~They can sit up with support. I know this may not seem like a big deal for a 6 month old, but they're actually a little under 5 months old as far as what they should be doing developmentally. So, this is really good for them.
~They can roll over front to back and back to front. Benson seems to get stuck sometimes, but for the most part, they do it well. It's funny to watch...they both roll the same direction with the same timing, so it looks like they're synchronized.
~They both really love the playmat. All the toys that hang down are up for grabs, and Benson usually has one in each hand.
~Each of them will reach for toys and roll towards them to grab them.
~Anderson has discovered that he can squeal and does it for the most part of the day. It's really cute!
~Benson sticks his tongue out.
~Chillie is quite funny to Benson. It's like he just noticed Chillie this week. Every time he walks by or is in Benson's sight, he will just stare at him and laugh.
~Anderson is really good at blowing raspberries and really likes to stand up.
~Benson favors the jumperoo (and has learned to jump) while Anderson prefers the saucer.

This is another thing Benson has started to do. I call it the "Ben look". Anyone who knows my dad has seen this face. All Benson needs is a little pair of baby reading glasses and he would look exactly like my dad.

Dinner time. A and B are quite smitten with Jackson. They study him closely and watch his every move. If Jackson laughs, Benson is right behind him.

At 6 months, Benson weighed 14 pounds, 9.5 ounces. He was 25.5 inches long with a head circumference of 17.5 inches.

Lovey Dovey

After doing posts on Jackson and Benson, it's now Anderson's turn. Jackson never was a "Momma's boy". He would pretty much go to anyone freely-unless he was tired, then it was either me or Adam. But, Anderson is my baby. He loves his mommy more than anyone. If I'm gone and then come home, he gets really excited and starts "ah-ing" at me. He's super sweet and loves to be held. Today, he started trying to hold his bottle. And, he's started to want to stand up when you're holding him. Anderson has some of the prettiest eyelashes I've ever seen. There's something extra special about his smile, too.

I'm pasty white, I know. But, at least I won't have wrinkles early on :)

Gator Fan

Over the past week, Jackson has been enjoying his outdoor time with his friend Merit (who lives down the street). Merit and Jackson are the same age and love to play together. We usually go over there on Saturdays...Merits' dad, Damien, has a projector that he hooks up in the garage and he and Adam watch football games while the kids play. One of Jackson's favorite things to do at Merit's house is to ride his John Deere tractor.

Since Jackson loved Merit's tractor so much, we decided to charge the Gator's battery that's at Pawpaw's house. Jackson is lucky that he has Cody for a cousin (the Gator was originally his and he's 13 now)...and that Pawpaw took good care of the Gator. He even bought 2 new batteries, so there could always be one on the charger and one fully charged battery in it. That's Pawpaw...always thinking ahead.

Adam went and picked up the Gator last Wednesday. So, when Jackson woke up from his nap, he was super excited to see that the Gator was at his house to ride. Now, he and Merit can ride together. They take turns, one rides the tractor and the other the Gator. And, sometimes they both ride in the Gator and fight over who drives.

Benson is such a happy baby. It's very rare for him not to smile at you, especially if you talk to him. He loves his big brother, Jackson, and watches everything he does. I often wonder how that will play out when he gets bigger. He also watches Anderson, especially when they're eating lunch in their Bumbos. He'll look over at Anderson and just smile and giggle. One of the sweetest things ever.

Love those beautiful blue eyes. So glad all my boys have them.

Better Late Than Never

Anderson and Benson turned 5 months old this past Sunday. I can't believe it's already been 5 months! I swear, the time with them seems to pass quicker than it did with Jackson.

Facts about the duplicates:
~ They take about 6 ounces of formula at 9, 1, 5, 7 and 8:30. At night, it's like a free-for-all at our house...like storing up for winter. Eat as much as you can so you'll sleep :)
~We go through about 4 cans (the big ones) of formula a week. Yeah...feel sorry for checking account!
~ They LOVE baby food! I feed them Ella's Kitchen and Happy Tot food. It has to be one of the most convenient sources of baby food ever.
~ For the most part, they go to bed around 8:45 and wake up around 8 in the morning. Benson usually starts out sleeping in the swing and then Adam moves him to his bed a couple of hours later. His reflux seems to bother him more at bed time so we let him sleep up-right for a while.
~ Benson can slide out of his bouncer if he's not strapped in...just ask Adam.
~Anderson can almost roll over from his back to stomach. He usually ends up getting tired and falls asleep.
~They both sleep in SwaddleMe blankets. Absolutely love these things! Anderson has super human baby strength and can pull his arms out.
~Anderson has started to play in the Jumperoo. Benson doesn't really care for it (yet), but he does like the saucer. We play "musical chairs" a lot between the saucer, jumper, and play mat.
~They wear a size 2 diaper and 3-6 month clothes.
~Both are talkers. Benson has a really funny "fussy voice". Anderson has discovered that squealing is a fun way to pass the time.

A Little Photo Love

So, I've had the daunting task of getting a family photo for Adam's business newsletter. Anyone who has ever tried to get 3 children to look at a camera (or the general direction of one), while using a tripod and then running back to pose, will tell you it's not an easy task. We tried one day last week...everyone survived but we did not end up with a family photo. I did get one cute one of the boys...

Adam wanted to get a picture of all of us, so we went back this week to try again. Jackson, being a 3 year old, has the classic "fake 'cheese' smile" when being posed for a picture. I try my best to get spontaneous shots...I'm not really a "pose" person, if you know what I mean. Being as though I'm the camera person, I would have to get everything ready, all while holding Anderson, press the button, run back, pose, smile, etc. Obviously, I need a remote. With Jackson's awful fake smile, I decided to let him take the picture. He knows how to "mash the butt", as he calls it. I explained to him how important it was for him to not move the camera and to run back as fast as he could. Wouldn't you know that was the best idea I've had in a long time? ;)

I have no idea why Blogger is making my photos look grainy and the colors all wonky.

Mmmm...baby food

Anderson and Benson have been eating baby food for a couple of weeks now. Benson has been a pro since the first bite. Anderson wasn't too crazy about it at first...he's a little lazy and would rather someone just feed him a bottle. That's until he got the hang of it. Now, he'll start fussing if you're not feeding him fast enough (or as fast as he thinks you should be).

So far, they've eaten carrots, sweet potatoes, peas, pears, apples and bananas. The only thing neither one of them like are the peas. I really don't blame them...they smell quite disgusting.

No, I have not forgotten about Jackson. He's actually at Nana and Papa's house right now, which is why I'm getting a chance to blog. He's loving preschool-talks about Mrs. Wendy (his teacher) and his buddies. We're having to work on our "inside voice", though. He gets so excited about the littlest thing... kind of hard to convey the point to a 3 year old that you can get excited but not yell about it. He's learning to write his name and did a great job of tracing it. He also recognizes a lot of letters and numbers. He'll see a "B" on a something and say "Momma, that's a B...like B for Benson." He even found a pretzel that looked like a "J" and got super excited.."Momma!! Look at dis. It's a J for Jackson!".

I know I've been a bad blogger lately. But, it's for a good reason. One, my business has picked back up (yay!). Two, Benson's reflux has gotten REALLY bad. I think we've got it mostly under control now but it's still bothering him. Three, both Anderson and Benson are teething. In fact, you can see one trying to break through on Anderson's bottom gum. Let me just tell you how fun our house has been the past 2 weeks ;)

Jackson had his first day of preschool on Tuesday. He had a wonderful time, and I managed to fight back tears while I dropped him off. I can actually thank A & B for that, since I had to tote them along.

That morning, Jackson woke up at the butt crack of dawn. He was SO excited to go and kept asking if it was time to leave. I even managed to get him to be still and smile for a picture. And, I just noticed that he brought his waffles outside for them pic (see his right hand).

4 months

Anderson and Benson turned 4 months last Thursday. They had their check-up today...so here's a little about them.

Anderson, you're such a cuddle bug. You love to be held closely and rocked. I think your favorite person (besides me:)) is Char. You love her lap and talk and laugh when she holds you. We have to work a little harder to get a smile from you than Benson, but it's well worth it. There's something extra sweet about your smile-I think it's the way your eyes light up when you do it and your little laugh.

You weren't too keen on the playmat, but it's starting to grow on you.

I can't believe you can already play in the saucer.

Today at your 4 months appointment, you weighed 13 pounds 13.5 ounces, 23 inches long and head circumference of 17 inches.

Benson, you're my little social butterfly. You have a permanent smile on your little face. Your laugh is quite contagious, too. Unlike Anderson, you do NOT like tummy time. In fact, if I put you on your stomach, you immediately roll over. You're batting at the dangling things on your mat. Something that I don't think...you grab and pull on your clothes and put them in your mouth, stretching them out. You stare at your hands and go cross-eyed, which is quite funny to watch.

At your 4 month check up, you weighed 11 pounds 13.5 ounces, 23.5 inches long and head circumference of 16.25 inches.

And why not end with a side of milk and cookies? ;)

It seems like just yesterday Adam and I were bringing Jackson home from the hospital and were scared out of our minds at how to take care of this 7 pound 10 ounce bundle of joy. Now, at a tad over 3 and half years old, Jackson is very independent and loads of fun. You never know what he's going to say and has a million and one questions to ask you about anything and everything.

We don't get many opportunities to play outside right now, being as though it's 100+ degrees outside and I don't want the twins to get overheated. But, yesterday we went out and discovered someone can almost reach the monkey bars.

It just doesn't seem like he should be that big already. He starts preschool next week, too. *sniff sniff*

Oh, the duplicates (aka the twins) personalities are definitely coming out. Benson is usually all smiles and very easy to please. He loves to play on their mat and has a special "bond" with the orange monkey that dangles from it. Anderson, on the other hand, could care less about the play mat. He just wants someone (me) to hold him. He likes to lay on my chest and hold his head up and have a staring contest. Such a sweet little thing.

See? Anderson is NOT happy about it...not one bit ;)

This Week...

We spent the July 4th holiday at home this year. On Sunday, Adam took Jackson to see the fireworks at our church (TBC) while I stayed with the twins. Jackson had a blast and told me all about it when he got home.

On Monday, we shot fireworks at our house. Jackson really likes the pop thingys that you throw on the ground.

The rest of the week has been like most. We've figured out that the twins have a much better attitude if you get out with them. So, I usually go somewhere mid morning, even if it's just to drive around, and go for a walk in the afternoons.

Benson was feeling quite animated one day so I snapped a few pics of him.

Random Ramblings

I couldn't think of a title...sorry. It's been a little crazy around here, believe it or not. The twins have had several bad days in a row but luckily today seems a little better. Here's what's been going on this past week...

~Adam and I celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary on Sunday. We spent the day with our little family of five.

~Benson is smiling and cooing a lot. He really likes to play patty-cake and has some pretty funny facial expressions. If he's having his tummy time, he either falls asleep or rolls over immediately. Benson has beautiful blue eyes and some of the cutest dimples ever. He's still eating about 4 ounces every 4-5 hours.

~Anderson is getting really good at holding his head up. He still sleeps in his swing-he just seems more comfortable there than his bed. It doesn't even have to be going-I think it's the whole sitting up thing that he likes. He is also a big time Momma's boy. He also has "hold-itis" ;) He wants me to hold him all the time. He's very snuggly with me, and I love it. He does get jealous if I'm holding Benson and he can see it. He'll start crying, Adam will pick him up but he'll still be looking at me and fussing. We'll switch and he'll stop. Can you say rotten?!

~Jackson has pretty much adjusted. There are times when he gets frustrated and acts out. It's mostly only when he wants someone to play with him and we can't. I feel so bad for him sometimes, but I usually make up for it with an extra long bath time. He's also picked up on a couple of things we do with the twins... like, Jackson will say/ask "How much did Benson eat?", "Has Anderson pooped today?", "Why is my baby fussing?" or "I think he needs a pacifier." He starts swimming lessons in a couple of weeks at the Wellness Center, and he's super excited about it.

A Little Something for Adam

Our 7 year wedding anniversary is this Sunday, and this is what I did for Adam. I made this little book out of different kinds of textured paper. The big pages are all black and white and then I stuck little colored card stock papers with things written on them. There's at least 50 pages, all with "some of the many things I love" about Adam. I also got some red ribbon to tie it together and used a heart shaped hole puncher to make it extra lovey.

I actually gave it to him this afternoon. I'm not one to be able to wait with gifts ;)

A Day in My Shoes

I have been a bad blogger lately, or at least I feel like I have. Just a couple of short posts here and there. I'm sure you can guess the main reason I haven't been "post happy" in a while...3 boys.

So, why not show you what today has been like? Keep in mind it's only 3:30pm

3:30am- Benson cries. I get up, put the pacifier back in and pray he'll go back to sleep.

3:45am- Benson cries. Repeat pacifier plea.

4:30am-Anderson starts his grunting routine. Usually means he is about to wake up.

5:00am-Anderson cries. I get up and make 2 bottles. When one is up, the other is usually 5 minutes behind him.

5:15am-Start feeding Anderson. He takes 2 ounces and passes out. I proceed for the next hour to try and feed him to no avail. Benson is still asleep (thank God). I lay Anderson down at 6:30.

7:00am- Benson cries. He's awake. Moves into our bed. Hold paci in his mouth and go back to sleep.

8:00am- Benson has had enough. Ready to wake up and start his day.

8:30am- Adam starts feeding the twins. Jackson is now awake.

8:45am-Brush my teeth, put on some deodorant, get dressed and pull my hair into a ponytail.

9:00am-I leave the house for my doctor's appointment at 9:20

10:00am-Done with doctor's appointment. Head over to Best Buy to get Adam an anniversary present. No luck.

10:30am-Pick up Jackson some lunch. Meet Adam, with kids in tow, at Wesley for the twins' NICU follow up. In the lobby, I get to answer many questions...like "Are they twins?", "Are they your babies?", "Do they sleep?", etc... Which gives me the idea to write the next blog post on all the stupid questions people ask me.

11:00am-NICU follow up. Keep Jackson entertained while listening to what each of 3 therapists say about the boys development (doing great:)).

12:00pm-All pile in the van and head to the mall to look for Adam some glasses. Again, no luck. Answer more questions from random people in the mall as to whether they're twins.

1:00pm-Get home. Adam frantically makes bottles as A and B are screaming at this point. I get Benson out of his car seat to calm him down while getting Jackson a couple of things to play with out of the closet. I start feeding Benson and Adam with Anderson. Switch about half way through to see if Adam can get Benson to eat (he's so lazy and likes to go to sleep about an ounce into his bottle). Hold Anderson and answer many questions about Jackson's "bucket of soldiers" (Toy Story 3) and the parachute men.

2:00pm-Turn on tv to get Jackson to start winding down for a nap. Guess what he wants to watch?? Toy Story 3. Btw...we've watched this every day for at least a week now. And I still have to ignore the ending as much as possible as it makes me tear up.

2:30pm-Get Jackson down for a nap. Swaddle Benson and lay him down. Try to talk Anderson into a nap...he doesn't agree. Put him in his swing anyway.

3:00pm-Anderson decides he's had enough of the swing. Pick him up to calm him down.

3:30pm-Writing blog while holding Anderson, who is now fast asleep.

And, if you're paying close attention, you'll notice that I haven't been able to eat or shower today. Hopefully, I'll get to do that as soon as Adam gets home. Somewhere during the day, I've also dealt with a meltdown from Jackson. Hey...parenting isn't always sunshine and rainbows.

I'm extremely grateful for my 3 "reasons" for being exhausted, smelly, hungry, and (sometimes) overwhelmed.

Whoever thinks all SAHMs do is sit on the couch and watch tv needs to read this. It may not be a "job", but it's definitely work! :)

Happy Father's Day

I'm so grateful to have such a wonderful father. I'm thankful for the close relationship we have... I don't think many girls say "I can tell my dad anything" like I can. Happy to say that my dad is always there for me no matter what, and I can always depend on him. What a great influence he has been on my life!

I'm also thankful to have such a wonderful role model for our boys. Adam is such a wonderful husband and father. I really couldn't ask for more.

Happy 2 month birthday, Anderson and Benson! These past 2 months have gone by so quickly. You're both getting so big- on Thursday, Anderson weighed 9 pounds 14 ounces and Benson was 8 pounds 6 ounces. Even Dr. Gaudet was impressed :)

Sweet little Benson. Even though you're only one and half pounds less than Anderson, you still feel so tiny. You're so curious about everything and aren't the easy baby to put down to sleep. You love to look around and have recently discovered your elephant that plays music (and love it).

Big boy Anderson. You are taking almost 6 ounces at every feeding (about every 4-5 hours). Right now, you have a little eye infection so we're putting some antibiotic drops into them. Let's just say you don't like it one bit. But, you're go back to being your happy little self about 5 minutes when we're done. You're sleeping in swing since your reflux is worse than Benson's. You also like for me to leave the closet light on when you're rocking back and forth so you can see the animals on the swing mobile.

Three Little Birds

Anderson and Benson had their 6 week check up this week. Even though they will be 8 weeks old on Monday, they've been going for weight checks and I didn't see any reason to make 2 special trips to the doc. I'm pleased to say that they both did great. I was really expecting hysterical crying from Anderson, but he cried for all of about 15 seconds. Benson screamed until I could pick him up and was fine after that.

Anderson stats...
Birth: 4 lbs, 12 oz and 19 inches long
3 weeks: 5 lbs, 13.5 oz, 19 inches long and 13.5 in head circumference.
5 weeks: 7 lbs, 13.5 oz, 20.25 inches long and 14.25 in head circumference.
7 weeks: 9lbs, 6 oz, 21 inches long and 15 in head circumference.

Anderson, you are still very much a Momma's boy. You like for me to hold you at all times. I love at your feedings that you keep constant eye contact with me. You also have some of the prettiest eye lashes I've ever seen. You definitely did not get that from me. You've also rolled over a couple of times and have been batting at the dangling rattle on your play mat.

Benson stats...
Birth: 4 lbs, 3 oz, 18.5 inches long
3 weeks: 4 lbs, 13.5 oz, 18.5 inches long and 13 in head circumference.
5 weeks: 6 lbs, 11.5 oz, 20 inches long and 14.25 in head circumference.

Benson, you are so scared that you're going to miss something important. You stay awake a good portion of the day and are very bright eyed and curious. You are a lot more laid back than Anderson and Jackson...I think you're going to have your Daddy's demeanor. You also seem very interested in Jackson and will keep your attention totally on him when he talks to you. You have also rolled over a couple of times and really like the lights in our living room.

You both are getting a little rice cereal in your milk now, since you have a little bit of reflux. And, you both seem to be doing a little better since we thickened up your formula. I hope it helps so you aren't miserable...I hate when there's nothing I can do to make you feel better!

A Trip to the Zoo

Saturday, Jackson and I had a little outing all to ourselves. I took him to the zoo for a couple of hours, and we had a blast. It was super hot, as you can see by how wet Jackson's hair is.

As soon as we pulled up into the parking lot, he could not stop talking about riding the train. So, the first thing we did was just that.

The conductor was nice enough to let Jackson sit in the driver's seat after we finished our ride. As you can see, he is excited and a little stunned ;)

After riding the train (twice), we walked around to see the "mamimals". The tiger was taking it easy in the shade next to the fence, so we got to see him up close. Jackson really wanted him to get up but the tiger needed a nap. The tiger was a definite favorite along with the monkeys, swans and zebras. He was a little disappointed that the zoo didn't have a giraffe, though.

Before we left, we rode the carousel. I always love riding this with him...such a happy and fun time.

Monthly Onesies

Each month, I'm going to document the twins with a photograph of them in a onesie with the month number on it. I have searched all around, looking at appliques and monogram options for the design, and then remembered my good friend, Etsy. We have a very loving, and usually costly, relationship. But, Etsy again came through for me. I found these cute, inexpensive stickers to decorate the onesies.

Without further ado, here's their first month pictures. My OCD brain cringes looking at the first two, since I cut off part of their limbs. But, it's SO hard getting them both to cooperate and look the same way so this will have to do. It still turned out pretty cute :)

I can't believe I went an entire week without blogging. Believe it or not, I've had my hands full ;) Everyone is doing good, and we're just enjoying each other. I'm lucky that Adam has a job where he makes his own schedule. He has loved staying at home with us...I think the main thing he has loved is not getting out of his pajamas ;)

Jackson's last day of MDO was Thursday. He absolutely LOVES his class and "Mrs. Mamber", aka Amber. He's already asking about going back to "school". I can't believe he'll be in 3 day pre-k in the fall. Let's not talk about that...

Over the weekend, I took Jackson to the train station. I'm sure you all know how much he loves trains, so this was just awesome to him. Even though, no trains came through, he still had a good time.

He loves his cape, Amanda. He's been wearing for the past 2 days, riding his "horse" around the house, playing super hero cowboy that saves me from dinosaurs.

Anderson and Benson are doing great. They're both eating about 4 ounces every 4 hours. We went to the doctor yesterday for a weight check. Anderson weighs 7 pounds 13.5 ounces, and Benson weighs 6 pounds 11.5 ounces. They've grown SO much in the past month, or at least their bellies and cheeks have.

Mother's day came and went. Definitely not the easiest day I've had but I made it. The day was very low key-I took Jackson to get some ice cream and that was about it. Adam and I are trying to do little things with him through out the week so he doesn't feel left out. He's been doing so good, but I can tell he's missing out on his "alone" time with us.

Just thought I would catch up and post some pics of our week. Here are the latest.

Dear Momma

I know I'm early for Mother's Day. I can't stop thinking about Sunday, though. It has been on my mind constantly, and honestly, I'm dreading it. I think I cry every time it crosses my mind. But, I thought I would at least write something for my mom.

There's a song at the bottom that I know she would like. It's by the Beatles but I like the Johnny Cash version better. You can really hear the lyrics.

Momma,
I hope you are resting peacefully and enjoying Heaven. I wish I could've hugged you one last time-I regret not doing that the day before you passed away. You haven't known me for the passed 12 years, so I thought I would let you in on some things that have happened.

The first big one would be that I graduated from high school. You would've been proud, too. I got several scholarships based on leadership and volunteer work.

I decided to go to Jones before USM. I don't know if you would've liked this too much. I have so many wonderful memories of JCJC with friends, classes and teachers. After 2 years there, I transferred to USM and got a degree in Medical Technology and Clinical Laboratory Science. I know this would make you proud. You always wanted me to do something in the medical field. I didn't join a sorority, which probably has you a little ticked. As much as I wanted to, I knew it was more important to concentrate on my studies...now that makes Daddy proud :)

Now..all those memories at Jones. That's where I met a boy, Adam. He was wonderful. We became best friends over a 6 month period and started dating on April 14, 2001. I fell head over heels in love with him and never looked back. You would have cautioned me to fall so freely and quickly, but I'm glad I was care free about it. I know you would love him...Daddy even does! We got married on June 26, 2004 and have been trucking along ever since. We've had our ups and downs, but I think we're a great couple because of it.

Adam and I moved to Texas the following summer. It was a hard move-I didn't want to leave Daddy. I remember thinking how upset you would have been to see me move away...which probably would have made you not be too fond of Adam until we moved back ;) We spent about 3 years in Austin. One of the greatest things happened to me out there...we had a baby boy. Jackson was born on December 26, 2007 (yours and Daddy's wedding anniversary) at 6:06 pm weighing in at 7 pounds 10 ounces. A perfect little boy that you would've loved so much. He'll be 4 this year and is a spitting image of me. He's full of life, love and personality. He adores Daddy (Pawpaw) and makes him laugh on a regular basis. I really wish you could have met him.

Well, we moved back and have enjoyed being home...especially being able to raise Jackson around friends and family. But, one more big event happened recently that I should tell you about. Last September, we found out we were pregnant again. But this time, it was with twins. Oh, how I wish you would have been here for that moment. We were excited and scared all at the same time. I think one of the greatest things was seeing Daddy's face when I told him we were having twins. The look of shock and excitement has never looked better. Five weeks before their due date, Anderson and Benson joined us on April 11, 2011 at 7:48am and 7:49am. Two more precious little boys that already have their own personalities.

That's the big stuff. These little boys sure would love their Mawmaw. I really wish you could be here to enjoy them and share the joy of knowing them. That's probably the hardest thing for me. I hope I've made you proud and that you love the woman I've become.

I think about you often and miss you daily. Since you can't be here with me, I hope you glance down on us from time to time and smile.

21 Days New

Happy 3 weeks, Anderson and Benson! We are so happy to have you home. Your big brother Jackson is beyond smitten with you two...and I'm sure that will change once you get old enough to play with "his" toys.

Benson, I can already tell you're going to be trouble. You're very wide eyed and curious as to what's going on...very alert for a 3 week old. You do NOT like tummy time and actually almost rolled over today. The bouncer is your favorite place to be. You love your Soothie paci but haven't quite figured out how to keep it in your mouth for more than 30 seconds (which drives your Dada bonkers). I'm not so sure who you look like... I think you're a good mixture of Dada and Mommy.

Anderson, you're Mommy's cuddle bug. You would much rather Mommy hold you than anything. Although, you do love your swing. You're eating about 3 ounces every 3 hours...and we're pretty sure that you know what a bottle looks like. You're a little more laid back than Benson but not when it comes to feeding time. You definitely look like Jackson (and Mommy). Your smile melts my heart, even if it just because your gassy.

I just realized I haven't eaten today...that's what my life is like these days. Wouldn't trade it for a thing.

Finally, we're all together. Anderson got discharged today, and I'm so happy to finally be home. It's been an emotionally and physically exhausting two weeks between go back and forth to the hospital, shuffling Jackson to and from houses, and my mom's passing. It's such a relief to be able to just "be".

Today was a great day. We got to bring one of our twins home, Benson. Jackson finally got to meet him and is super excited (not to mention curious) about him. Chillie and Mocha also gave him head kisses when we got home :)

First, I just wanted to thank everyone who sent me Facebook messages, comments and posted on my wall during the loss of my mom. It's definitely been an emotional roller coaster but I'm on the upside now. She's had a long, hard 12 year battle with her illness, and I'm happy and relieved that she is no longer in pain. I believe that she can finally see what I've become...a wife to Adam and mother to 3 boys. I do hope she is proud of what she sees. I can't help but wonder what she thinks of all these boys :)

On a happy note... I'm rooming in with Benson this weekend. If he does well tonight, he can come home tomorrow. Anderson has to have 4 days of no bradycardia episodes. We're on day 3 right now. Please pray that everything goes well- if it does, he can room on Sunday and be home next week. Poor Jackson is having a hard time (and I think he's reached his breaking point) and only wants to stay at home with us. I don't blame him...who doesn't love their own home and bed to sleep in?

Again, thank you for all your thoughts and prayers.

Last night, we went to see the boys in the NICU while Char (my aunt) kept Jackson. One of my favorite nurses, Christine, was taking care of Anderson and decided she would put them together. One Big Hot Mess of Emotion

If someone asked me to describe myself right now, that's exactly what I would say..."one big hot mess of emotion." Understandable? Yes. Expected? Maybe. Predictable? No. This week had one of my happiest moments yet, along with one of the most stressful and painful things I've ever had to go through. I'm so happy that the twins are here and am blessed to have 2 sweet baby boys. But, it's also so very hard to leave them behind in the NICU. I know that they're well taken care of but that doesn't make it any easier. I'm really surprised I have all this fluid retention left with all the crying that has taken place the past few days. Sad, but funny. Not to mention how guilty I feel for not being able to be at the hospital with them every second, but also feel bad for Jackson. He doesn't understand why they're not at home and why mommy can't be at home with him like before. I pray every night that God will help them be able to come home as soon as possible and that they'll be ok. Pregnancy hormones mixed with all these other emotions are not easy to handle...Adam might have to put me in a "home" before this is all over with. Oh how I thank God daily for Adam. He has been my rock through all of this.

On a different note, April 14th is a special day for us. It's the day that Adam and I "officially" started dating. I will never forget the day Adam asked me to lunch at Jones...what a great beginning that was! Thank you, God, for bringing us together and for picking him out for me. You gave us 2 of the greatest gifts this week, and we couldn't be happier and more grateful.

Yesterday, I got to hold Anderson and Benson for the first time, along with feeding them and getting to do Kangaroo (skin-to-skin time). The skin-to-skin time is my absolute favorite...it's a special snuggle time for us.

This is Benson who was bright eyed and bushy tailed :) We stared at each other for a while today before he fell asleep. I even got a couple of coos out of him.

This is after just feeding Anderson, who ate a little over 15 mls (that's all he's allowed right now) and was not happy about me taking away his bottle. But, I think this made it all better :)

I also had a special visitor last night, who I've missed very much. We watched an episode of the Backyardigans while Daddy went to see the twins. Jackson was very upset that he wasn't able to see them and had a little mini melt down when he had to leave without mommy.

2 Unexpected Arrivals & Their Story

Anderson and Benson arrived into the world on Monday, April 11th, a little before 8 am at 35 weeks gestation. Here's their story...

At 33 weeks, I started having a lot of contractions and ended up being put on Terbutaline to help stop preterm labor. I was having a lot of contractions, but they weren't strong and were irregular and I could talk through them, so I really wasn't that worried. The only thing that bothered me was the medication- it makes you feel like you're on speed and when you have to take it every 6 hours, it's pretty much impossible to sleep. At first, the medication worked but over time it slowly stopped lasting as long. At my weekly check ups, I would have my NSTs (non-stress tests) and everything would be great with the babies..I would just be having some contractions. But, at this point, I hadn't dilated or thinned out at all, plus my urine was clear and my blood pressure was great-no signs of preeclampsia.

At week 34, I started feeling pretty horrible-almost like I had the flu again- and decided to talk to the doc. I ended up having a bad sinus infection on Tuesday which then turned into bronchitis by Thursday. Over the weekend I was having a lot of contractions, but they were not following any kind of pattern-like the ones from before- so I didn't think anything about it. Well, on Saturday night, I was laying in bed trying to go to sleep and started having intense pains that made me sweat and double over in pain. I got up, tried walking around a little bit to see if that helped. I sat on the couch until 5 am that morning counting and timing contractions, debating whether or not to wake Adam and go to the hospital. They finally settled down and I was able to sleep for a couple of hours.

Later that afternoon, I noticed that the twins weren't moving like they normally do. I also felt extremely nauseous anytime I ate or drank anything. So, I decided to call my local twins expert, Amanda, and see if she had any advice. After talking to her, I decided I should probably give the clinic a call and let them know what was going on. After speaking to the on call doc, Dr. McIntyre, we dropped off Jackson at my dad's house and headed to the hospital.

Once we got to the hospital, I was immediately hooked up to monitors to check the babies and contractions. I was having contractions every 2-3 minutes, but I didn't feel they were too bad. Plus, Anderson and Benson were showing no signs of distress. Dr. McIntyre came in to check on me and it turned out I was dilated 2 cms and 50% effaced/thinned out. I was shocked because only a few days ago when Dr. Pace checked me, I wasn't making any progress. So, Dr. McIntyre decided to start some medications to stop labor. Throughout the evening into the early morning, I got 3 shots of Terbutaline, several bags of fluid and Stadol, and then several doses of magnesium. I have to say I was extremely anxious about getting the magnesium...I've heard some horrible stories about it and wasn't looking forward to it. To my surprise (and excitement), it just made me flushed and really hot.

At 7 am Monday morning, Dr. McIntyre paid us a little visit. We were given a few options... 1) I could try a few more doses of magnesium, 2) Go home and return if things got worse, and 3) deliver the twins. Adam and I spoke to him in detail about our options...I didn't want to try the magnesium again- my contractions had slowed a little but the actual intensity had increased dramatically. The TOCO monitor (the one that reads uterine contractions) went from going up to 75-100 during the first little while, to staying above 113 and up to 165 while I was on the magnesium. If we went home, there was no way for me to know if I was "progressing" enough to come back to the hospital. Plus, Anderson was really low and as Dr. McIntyre put it, I wouldn't have much time to get to the hospital if labor became more intense. After talking with Adam, we decided that the safest thing would be to go ahead and have the twins.

I am so very thankful for Dr. McIntyre. This was the first time that we had ever met him but what a wonderful doctor he is. He has some of the best bed side manner and did an awesome job of keeping us informed. I was so very scared that I was making the wrong decision about delivering the twins and was crying and freaking out a little. He sat on my bed and made me feel very comfortable about delivering them at 35 weeks and having a c-section.

I think I was in the OR for all of 15 minutes. The longest part was getting spinal-the terbutaline makes me shake really bad so getting 3 doses of it did not make it easy. Adam sat beside me, held my hand and we just kind of stared at each other. It was all very surreal and before we new it, we heard Anderson crying and then a minute later Benson was out. Everyone was "ooing" and "awing"over them and laughing at Benson's sweet sounding cry. I didn't get to see Anderson and only saw Benson's nose he was so swaddled up.

About eight hours after delivery, I finally got to meet my babies. They were in the NICU and had already been taken off of the CPAP machine which was helping them breathe a little. All of their vital signs are normal, but they'll still have to stay in the NICU for a little while. I'm praying they get to come home sooner rather than later...it's going to be really hard leaving the hospital without them, but I know this is the best place for them in case something were to happen. They have excellent nurses and a very sweet, cautious neonatologist here.

Anderson Mac arrived first, weighing 4 pounds 12 ounces and 18 inches long. Benson Zachary came into the world one minute later and weighed 4 pounds 3 ounces and 17 inches in length. They both have a lot of hair (especially compared to Jackson)...Benson's hair is a little lighter and fuzzier. When I finally got yo meet them last night, Anderson was bright eyed and staring at me and even cooed a couple of times. Benson is who the nurse referred to as the "feisty one". He was moving constantly, just like he did in the womb, and would try to pull out his lines and did pull out his CPAP tube. Adam
and I agree that they both look like Jackson. They each have my nose, Anderson has Adam's full lips and it looks like Benson will be stuck with my thin ones.

After I saw them this morning, the nurse told me that they both had their first feeding late last night. They each had 10mls of formula (unfortunately my milk hasn't come in yet) and ate it all- along with drinking all of their sugar water...the nurse said babies rarely drink the water, most just spit it out. This morning, Benson had 15 mls of formula while I was visiting. I think I might actually get to hold and feed them myself this afternoon :)

Outdoor Fun & Curiosity

As I've said before, Jackson's favorite thing to do is ride his bike. We spent some of the weekend outside riding bikes and just having fun in general. I say "some of the weekend" because the pollen counts are really not making me feel good...I can barely breathe out of my nose and am pretty miserable since I can't take anything besides Benadryl.

Jackson, Super Hero

It was a nasty day, with all the rain and humidity. So, we spent the day inside...which was quite the challenge since we've been inside since Monday due to an on and off fever. But, today we've had no fever and a very vivid imagination. It all started with Jackson wearing his super hero cape and finding his sword. Then, it was off to protect mommy from the "evil, fire breathing dinosaur dragon that wanted to eat Chillie's food and Mommy's toes". The conversations and dialogue were so funny, and I wish I could've recorded it to capture his personality and imagination.

And, for those that were curious as to how my 32 week check up went...all is well. Dr. Pace said he was "so excited to see these babies" and happy about how well everything is going. Anderson weighs 4 pounds 6 oz and Benson weighs 3 lbs 13 oz-which is "perfect" according to him. I start going once a week next week (34 weeks) for NSTs and check ups. 34 weeks is my big hurdle to make it to...so we're very excited to almost be there. And, then it's 36/37 weeks. Hoping all goes well from here on out :)

Let's Go For A Bike Ride

Jackson loves his bike. In fact, I don't think "love" is a strong enough term for it. Like clockwork, he asks after lunch and his nap to ride his bike. He doesn't use the pedals...they're overrated anyway. As my Pawpaw would say, "Heather never road a tricycle right", so maybe he's just taking after momma. It drives Adam bonkers that he doesn't use them, too, and if he does use them, it's only to go backwards.

I haven't been feeling all too well, which explains the lack of words/descriptions in my posts. It all started with an ugly migraine on Friday that decided it would just hang out all weekend. Finally got some meds yesterday which at least take the edge off. I have my 32 week check up on Friday with an ultrasound to see how these little dudes are doing. They're definitely growing and bouncing around like everything is all good in their neighborhood...but, their "neighborhood" is running out of real estate for them. Not too much longer, little guys, and you'll be evicted ;)

31 Weeks & Growing

Yep, that's right. 31 weeks along...which means the twins will be here in 9 short weeks or less. I'm excited about their upcoming debut but have to admit I'm also a tad nervous. According to my pregnancy email today, they're about to experience a growth spurt. Well, I'm running out of room so I guess they're going to start poking out of my back. I even told Adam yesterday that I don't think we'll have to worry about going to the hospital...they are moving so much (and punch/kick so hard) that they might just make a break for it on their own ;) So, here we are at 31 weeks.

Yesterday, we took Jackson to the farm to spend some outdoor time with Pawpaw. Adam refers to it as Jackson's own personal safari with Pawpaw as his "Jim Shockey" guide. The farm is one of Jackson's most favorite places to go, and I know Pawpaw really enjoys the company.

This is as close as Jackson would get to the fish. I tried my best to get him to stand beside Pawpaw but he wasn't having any of that.

A Trip to the Park and Maternity Pics

Yesterday, we took a trip to the park and enjoyed the lovely weather on the playground. Jackson was very excited to go to the "big playground". He was a little disappointed that the zoo was closed but quickly forgot about it once we got there. I tried to get a few pics, but it didn't take long for me to get hot and sweaty ;)

Jackson pretty much stayed on this part of the playground the entire time. He tried the bigger ones but wasn't too sure about them.

Poor thing...sweats like his momma.

At some point, Jackson decided that it would be a good idea to climb up this thing. And, let me just say, he's very fast at climbing. He got to the top and then realized he didn't know how to get down. Thanks to Dada for getting there just in time before real panic set in.

A couple of weekends ago, we went to Jackson to meet our friends Stephen and Tami Johnson. They are not only good friends but 2 wonderful photographers. Today, I got my cd and could not be happier about the pics! So, I thought I would share my favorites (there's a lot:)).

There's a story behind the book...I read it to Jackson while I was pregnant with him and now read it to the twins (and Jackson "helps").

I also had my 28 week check-up today. Babies are doing well...one weighs 2.5 pounds and the other 2.3 pounds. Anderson is laying across my stomach and Benson's head is on my right hip with his feet in my chest (so it looks like they're making a "t"). Glucose test also came back normal-yay! The only problem is that my iron levels are really low. Even though I take iron, for some reason it doesn't seems not to work. When I was pregnant with Jackson, I had to get IV iron, so hopefully they can just do that here. Dr. Pace did mention that I need to slow down...and Adam brought up the fact that I'm like my dad and extremely hard headed ;) Other than being exhausted, I'm doing really well and can't complain.

We've had a pretty fun week of outdoor fun thanks to weather. I have to say that I'm going to need it to not get above 75 until I have these babies. I'm already sweating at 65 degrees...I can't imagine what it would be like if I were pregnant during the summer. Enough about that...here are some pics from the week.

I Heart Faces: Red

This week's challenge at I Heart Faces is "red" in honor of "Go Red for Women". My photo is actually for my dad, who had open heart surgery this past November. I adore my dad, and Jackson loves his Pawpaw more than words can say. Every day my dad was in the hospital, Jackson would ask about him... "Pawpaw sick?" and "Pawpaw's heart all better?". Thankfully, he made a full recovery and is back to his old self again.

Jackson made him a cute little heart shaped Valentine with 2 hand prints on it, but it was much more fun to play with the scraps. He knew this was for Pawpaw, and I think the love shines through.

Swagger Wagon

I don't know if I mentioned this or not, but we bought a mini van a couple of weeks ago. Adam got my Maxima...I got the swagger wagon. I have to say, it's a really nice ride. From the beginning, Adam has gone through some kind of mid-life crisis about getting a van. Now that he's driven, he would rather take it than his car. Jackson of course loves it...mostly because he can watch a movie with headphones and press a button to open and close the door.

Our newest addition...Nissan Quest. Don't you just love Jackson's stance? ;)

Not a whole lot has been going on in our house lately, and that's fine with me. We've enjoyed a little outdoor time after lunch when it's not as cold. But, the majority of our time has been spent indoors playing with trains, Batman and Buzz. Adam even made the comment this morning that our house no longer looked like a house, but rather a train station.

I love to watch him study things. Is it just me or does he look like a "big kid" in this picture?

~He's grown 2 inches since his January check up...40 inches tall.

~He wears a 9.5 extra wide shoe. So hard to find him cute dress shoes!

~He would rather paint than use crayons.

~His favorite foods are strawberries, raspberries, cheese quesadillas, chicken nuggets, and Chinese food (noodles, rice and marinated cucumbers).

~One of his favorite sayings is "Oh, the indignity", which is from Gordon the train. He walks around the house saying it and using it in the right context.

~Jackson: "I'm gonna go out da doe fo sho." Someone has been listening to their Dada talk.

~Adam's ring tone for Drew is "Wanna Be A Baller" by Lil Troy. Jackson has picked up on some of the chorus and sings along with it and sounds like "Waller...truck caller... bades on my pillar."

~Every time we get in the car, he wants to listen to "Roxanne" by the Police.
